Patek Philippe to showcase craftsmanship at Milan exhibition - patek philippe milan exhibition
The Watch Art Grand Exhibition 2026 will take place in Milan, Italy.

Patek Philippe has confirmed that traditional craftsmanship will take precedence over artificial intelligence for the upcoming Watch Art Grand Exhibition 2026 in Milan, a decision rooted in the brand’s respect for history and skill. The company believes horological techniques are precious assets that require constant exercise, careful preservation, and transmission to new generations. This philosophy supports the “savoir-faire” behind every timepiece and guides the firm’s approach to innovation and exhibition planning.

Watch Art Grand Exhibition comes to Milan

The event will take place at CityOval, located within the CityLife complex, from October 2 to October 18. The organizers will construct a large dome to house the display space. This area will cover 2,540 square meters and feature thematic sections. Visitors will explore recreations of the Rue du Rhône headquarters, the Plan-les-Ouates manufacturing facility, and the Patek Philippe Museum. The exhibition aims to bring the manufacturing process closer to the public through this immersive format.

According to Thierry Stern, the company president, Milan was selected because it is the most international city in Italy and easily accessible from major European capitals. Stern noted that Italy has historically been a significant market for the brand due to the public’s deep appreciation for horology. The exhibition format originated fourteen years ago as free access shows designed to connect audiences with the Geneva-based manufacture’s creations and philosophy. Previous stops for these exhibitions have included Dubai, Monaco, London, New York, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Showcasing watches and techniques

The Milan edition will display the full range of current Patek Philippe timepieces. A dedicated section will focus on high craftsmanship, featuring table clocks and pocket or wristwatches created with métiers d’art techniques. Live demonstrations by artisans will accompany these exhibits. Additionally, the event will feature a selection of items from the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. A specific area will showcase the brand’s calibers, detailing the phases of production, while another space will highlight the research and development division and the sphere of complicated watches.

Hosting such an event represents a major responsibility for the team in Italy. Laura Gervasoni, the general director of Patek Philippe Italy, expressed pride in organizing the gathering. She described the project as a dream realized and acknowledged the two-year effort required to organize the venue, press previews, and client events. The company has consistently supported mechanical watchmaking since the quartz crisis, viewing the high artistry of watchmaking as something that must be both preserved and innovated.
